Nestling in the Dumfriesshire countryside, but with easy access to the M74, is Nether Boreland. Formerly an old coach house and the village Inn it was once a mecca for local farmworkers and shepherds until the licence was withdrawn some fifty years ago. Sadly, the licensing authorities thought such places were too remote for police surveillance and they were closed! The farmhouse is now also home to the Chariots of Fire Driving Centre and the base for the famous Chariots of Fire Display Team. Email us on amanda@chariots.org.uk for information on accommodation and all our activities.
The farm has two double rooms (1 ensuite, 1 private bath) and one twin (ensuite). All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, TV, clock radio, hair dryer etc.
After a freshly cooked Scottish breakfast you can explore the Borders countryside or take part in one of the many sports available locally including golf, fishing, stalking and quad bike riding.
The visitors lounge has a huge open fire, TV and stereo.
Carriage driving and riding lessons are available at the Driving Centre. The farm is on a number of walking and cycling routes, including a well travelled Land's End to John O'Groats route if you are feeling energetic! If you have a dog with you, they are also welcome. You can even bring your horse and we will provide stabling in our extensive yard (which also has a small indoor school for exercise).
B & B is from £30, packed lunches and an evening meal can be arranged if booked in advance. Contact amanda@chariots.org.ukfor more information and availability.
