Your Hosts

Your hosts at the Coach House are Amanda and John.  Amanda settled in Boreland in 1998 where she set up the Chariots of Fire Driving Centre.  Both keen carriage drivers it wasn't long before she met John on the Scottish carriage driving competition circuit.  The rest, as they say, is history!

For the past 12 years Amanda has traveled the country with The Chariots of Fire Display her stunt carriage driving display team.  The idea originated when she started teaching her driving pony, Mr Pie, a few tricks - he had a tendency to get bored very easily!  Over a decade later, the team has up to 9 ponies, 2 cows and 4 sheep!  Not to mention numerous driving ponies at the Centre!  Take a look at the Opportunities page, to see just what you can get up to at Nether Boreland if you are feeling adventurous or need a new interest in life!

In 2002 Amanda was National Pony Champion and since then she has won numerous titles - including Scottish Indoor Champion three years running.  She is very keen to pass on her expertise and encourage people into the sport.  To this end she set up Junior Chariots, the first specialist driving club for young people in the country.
